Shawn Madden House Concert

My close friend and great artist Shawn Madden was visiting the area from Austen last week and performed at a house concert for a bunch of his friends. Man he has so grown in talent since I heard him last-and he was great before! Funny, inspiring, and just great sound! Go to shawnmaddenmusic.com for info, music downloads and schedule. Peter Wilner, a local, very talented bassist who often plays with Shawn is in the background.

Ami's Bat Mitzvah!

That was so much fun! I still can't believe I get paid for this!

The highlight of my night was being at the right place at the right time and snapped a shot of the Bat Mitzvah girl fake kissing a boy. Can you beat that??

What a wonderful crowd. I have never seen so much dancing. In the hallway, in side rooms. It just didn't stop! It was such an honor to be part of this family's event.

A photographer get-together in Maine

This weekend I went to a photographer get-together in Maine, with models and lighting set ups. The intention was to learn and experiment with strobe lighting and to just have some fun. The organizers did this just as a way of giving to fellow photographers, with no ulterior motives of a DVD to sell or a workshop to attend. Its so heartening to see this kind of thing. It was a blast! I fulfilled some fantasies of being a glamor photographer as you can see below.

Wow! What a Bat Mitzvah!

What a fun event! The Bat Mitzvah girl did an absolutely incredible job leading the service. She has such a beautiful voice! The family and friends were wonderful. The venue was really cool. It was in the Higgins Armory, with real Knights' armor decorating the walls. It was eye candy for a photographer. Here are a few shots that give you a sense of the love and good times that were flowing that night.

Sue and Ed

If I could describe in a word the overall sense of the wedding and who I think Ed and Sue are in general, it would be welcoming, embracing, and fun. OK , thats not one word. Two wonderful families were brought together with a couple of wonderful folks at the helm. What an honor to be a part of it.

Look out mom and dad, I think GQ and Glamour magazines are gonna have an eye out for your kids.
